Honor flight started at FountainView early morning-5am then to breakfast at Westchester Community College on to Westchchester airport for the flight to Washington DC where 2 FountainView residents, AL and Bill, were honored with other veterans at a ceremony and then back home. Al who just turned 100 was accompanied by his son.
The ClubHouse pool was transformed into the O.K. Corral for country and western day at FountainView. Resident’s happily rode pool noodle ponies. They then raced from one end of the pool to another. The spa acted as a watering hole for residents and their horses as they rested and rejuvenated after the day’s events.
Residents participated in events at FountainView and enjoyed a BBQ with staff members plus awards were presented for the big winners!
It was a competitive afternoon at FountainView when two teams played each other beachball volleyball. There were a lot of laughing going on. They built up a hearty appetite for the ice cream social that followed.
We made a delicious marble cake with chocolate Icing in the Springs. Everyone really enjoyed tasting our masterpiece during happy hour in the afternoon.
Beth gave the residents a list of nature items to find around FountainView. It was fun to see the different items everyone came back with while getting some exercise finding them.
What a perfect day we had at the Bronx Zoo. After a picnic lunch we took the monorail around Asia World, visited the gorillas and buttterflies. Everyone had a great time.
